November 19th, 2008 - byStill don’t think college athletic recruiting is about relationships? Take a look at this quote from new Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean.
“Our coaches worked extremely hard to build on relationships that we already had and to 
build new ones and continue to show people why Indiana was a perennial power year-in and year-out. Our coaching staff … along with the rest of our staff show what can happen when you believe in something and are not afraid to work hard.”
Coach Crean took over an Indiana team in complete disarray and managed to round out his 2008 recruiting class in a few weeks and then turned around and signed a top 10 nationally ranked 2009 class. His staff took an impossible situation and flipped the script by aggressively building relationships.
I encourage student-athletes to do the exact same thing.
If you are behind in the recruiting process I urge you to immediately start contacting college coaches to get your name out. I also recommend you learn how NCSA can jump start your recruiting process.

HI MY NAME IS MELANIE RUSSELL. I AM A SENIOR AT WESTERN HIGHSCHOOL AND I PLAY VARSITY ON THEIR BASKETBLL TEAM. I HAVE A GRADE POINT AVERAGE OF 3.1. I AM A FORWARD, AND I AVERAGE LIKE 16 POINTS A GAME.
