Vote Marist High’s Bill Seiler for Chicago Sun-Times Player of the week
November 3rd, 2008 - byMarist High’s Bill Seiler has been nominated again for Chicago Sun Times player of the week. Chicago Marist is currently
ranked #24 in the state of Illinois and has had an outstanding season with the help of the southside running back. We recently caught up with the Alsip native and here’s what he had to say.
NCSA: What are your thoughts on your upcoming opponent Naperville North?
BS: We have great dedication, coaching, and the ability to make a good run at it. Naperville North is a good team, with experience and tradition. Our offense will come out strong and it will be a good game.
NCSA: What schools are showing the most interest in your recruiting?
BS: Northern Illinois is calling once per week. Drake, and several Pioneer League teams have shown interest.
NCSA: Any visits lined up after the season?
BS: I’ve been up to Northern Illinois for a gameday visit and Drake before the season started. Once I get senior film into your office and with the help of NCSA I plan on getting more visits lined up. I know I will be pleased on where I end up.
NCSA: Any advice you can give to upcoming student-athletes in the recruiting process?
BS: It’s a bumpy road. One week you’re going to hear from a ton of schools and the next you’re going to think no one wants to talk to you. So by being patient and focus on having fun and the process will fall into place.
NCSA: Any pre-game rituals?
BS: Once I get out of school I’ll take a 12 minute ice bath then off to play some John Madden. I’ll then head to my buddy’s house for a haircut, and then head to my other buddy’s house who rinses it off. We play some more Madden and then it’s
game time.
NCSA: Where does one go eat on the south side of Chicago?
BS: Chicago has all the best food! We got Portillos, The Patio, and Giordano’s. NoNo’s has the biggest slice of pizza for $3.50!

Bill Seiler, Good Luck with the player of the week and in deciding which university to attend. FYI, I graduated from Oak Lawn Community and went to Drake on a track scholarship. I loved that college. They’ve got a great reputation. Des Moines grows on you after awhile. The campus is beautiful, classes small and they’ve really dumped a lot of funds into new, state of the art facilities over the last several years.
